DIMAPUR: Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) and Nagaland Gaonburas Federation (NGBF) have has strongly condemned the recent bomb blast in Chümoukedima district that claimed the life of one security personnel and left four others seriously injured.
Expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, CNCCI also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Terming the incident a reprehensible act of violence, it said such attacks were a direct assault on the peace, stability and sense of security that the people of Nagaland have painstakingly nurtured over the years.
CNCCI stated that the people of Nagaland, having endured decades of hardship and conflict, have collectively embraced the path of peace, dialogue and development. It asserted that no individual or group should be allowed to derail this hard earned peace through senseless acts of violence.
The Confederation further emphasised that lasting peace was indispensable for economic growth, employment generation, investment, tourism and overall progress of the state. It urged law enforcement and investigating agencies to leave no stone unturned in identifying, apprehending and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The business community expressed confidence that intensified investigation efforts would ensure accountability in accordance with the law. CNCCI also reminded the perpetrators that the people of Nagaland would not allow the state’s peace to be hijacked by violence.
Calling upon citizens to remain united and cooperate with the authorities, CNCCI appealed to all to collectively uphold peace, harmony and the rule of law.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Gaonburas Federation (NGBF) has strongly condemned the tragic improvised explosive device (IED) attack, targeting personnel of the Assam Rifles. The attack claimed the life of one soldier and left four others injured.
In a statement, NGBF described the incident as a senseless and cowardly act that deserves the strongest condemnation from every peace loving citizen. It said such attempts to destabilise the prevailing atmosphere of peace were unacceptable, especially at a time when Nagas are yearning for lasting peace and an honourable solution to the protracted political issue.
The Federation appealed to citizens to remain calm, exercise restraint and respond with maturity and wisdom, stressing that malicious intentions must not be allowed to disrupt harmony in society.
NGBF urged the Government of Nagaland and law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice without delay. It also appealed to all Naga political groups to extend full cooperation to the investigating agencies in the interest of justice and lasting peace.
Conveying condolences to the bereaved family of the fallen soldier, NGBF prayed for strength and comfort during this difficult time and wished the injured personnel a speedy recovery.
