CNSA calls for maintaining border vigil against influx

DIMAPUR, JUL 26 (NPN)

Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) has appealed to the public, civil society organizations, village councils and student bodies across Nagaland to remain vigilant while expressing grave concern over the issue of illegal immigration.
In a press release, CNSA president Zuchobemo Jungi and general secretary Imnayanger Jamir asserted that “unchecked and undocumented movement” posed a serious threat to demographic integrity, cultural identity, and social security.
CNSA described illegal immigration not only as a legal issue, but also a socio-political challenge that undermined the very fabric of communities. CNSA said this placed undue pressure on limited resources, alters demographic balances, and raises concerns regarding security, employment, and law and order.” CNSA affirmed that it cannot remain as silent observers.
It has , therefore, called for upholding and protecting the land and identity and also urged student unions to remain alert in their respective jurisdictions and work with their local administrations.
CNSA also reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the rights and future of Naga people and adding, it would continue to monitor the issue closely and take appropriate action as needed.
