Two-day community awareness campaign on the theme, “community sensitization on departmental schemes and activities” by the Social Welfare department was undertaken in Wokha district from December 15 to 16.
Three ICDS projects in Wokha, Chukidong and Wozhuro were covered on the first day in Wokha town. Programme in Sanis and Bhandair ICDS projects were conducted on the second day.
During the course of the programme, joint director of Social Welfare, Tulula Pongen spoke on how community participation was much needed for successful implementation of different programmes and schemes of the department. She urged the community to actively participate. State programme officer, Yanrenthung Lotha also briefed the community on departmental schemes. A power point presentation on various schems was shown by CDPO, Wokha, Sorenthung Kikon.
Particiapants of the programme included village, colony chairmen, VDB secretaries, GBs, women leaders and anganwadi workers.
