One day “community concern and service day programme” was conducted jointly by Patkai Christian College Model United Nation (PCCMUN) and CAN Youth (Community Avenue Network) on February 27 at Amaluma village, Dhansiripar, Dimapur.
The programme led by CAN Youth secretary, Samuel Walling and president PCCMUN, Chingthiankim Simte also had an interaction with teaching staff, school management committee, village council, GBs and parents of students of GMS Amaluma.
The interactive session raised and discussed the development of the school and its education system and bringing good governance in village council and school management committee.
During the discussion teacher in-charge also raised a concern of some of the irregular teachers and shortage of teaching staff.
The joint team expressed that there was no point of blaming oneself for the prevailing condition but stressed on group effort where each individual concerned needed to bring changes in the education system and village development by working cohesively.
There were also fun activities for the students wherein gifts and stationeries were distributed duly by PCCMUN. The daylong programme ended with the vote of thanks by chairman of School Management Committee, Thangnodao Naiding.
Meanwhile, CAN Youth has thanked PCCMUN team for organizing the community concern and service day and showing concern for the children and adolescents of GMS Amaluma.
It also acknowledged Amaluma Village Council, School Management Committee, teaching staff of GMS Amaluma and the parents of students for their cooperation and support. CAN Youth have also requested the students to take up the same initiative for the grass root.
