Seyochung Village recently held a meeting with the Youth Ministry of Seyochung Village Baptist Lithro to discuss collaborative efforts for the village’s development. During the meeting, the Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) requested the Youth Ministry to provide a volunteer to teach Naga Heritage (Sangtam) at Seyochung Village Government High School.
In a press release, SVSU press & information secretary, Throngli P Sangtam informed that the union expressed gratitude to the ministry for accepting the request.
The president of SVSU thanked the Youth Pastor of Seyochung Village Baptist Lithro, Khumkise Anar, for agreeing to volunteer at GHS Seyochung village. He emphasized the importance of community participation in the school and highlighted the need for collective efforts to promote the mother tongue in education.
Meanwhile, the Seyochung Village Students’ Union donated medicines to the Health and Wellness Centre in the village. The union also acknowledged the staff for winning the Kayakalp Award in the district and appreciated their decision to use the award money for the improvement of the health centre instead of distributing it among themselves.
The Community Health Officer of Seyochung Village expressed gratitude to the Village Council and the Students’ Union for their continuous support. However, she pointed out that the untied fund of Rs. 20,000 is insufficient for a large village like Seyochung.
Additionally, she raised concerns about the poor condition of the staff toilets in the old staff quarters and urged the union to address the issue. In response, the president and executive committee of the Seyochung Village Students’ Union assured their commitment to improving the health center for the benefit of the villagers.
