Commuters informed on Wokha-Merapani road

Executive Engineer (EE), PWD (R&B) Baghty, has informed that Wokha-Merapani road (interstate highway), the only lifeline to the people of Wokha district has been extensively damaged from heavy landslides and due to incessant rain erosions had occurred across the entire stretch from Doyang to Merapani (22.0-63.0 km).
EE stated that public commuters and transportation of essential commodities were severely hit causing immense hardship to the people, particularly the areas in Bhandari, Baghty, Sanis, and Doyang Hydro Project.
Meanwhile, expressing gratitude to the district administration, PWD staff, PWD Mechanical, Department of Power, and the public for their cooperation, EE has informed commuters plying along the area to be cautious as the soil was instable and that massive landslide were likely to occur anytime during the rainy season.
