
Advisor urban development and municipal affairs, Dr. Nickiesalie Nicky Kire stated that completion of project showed that there was unity and cooperation in the society.
Addressing the gathering at the culmination programme of Kohima 9th AC ward adoption at lower PWD Ward II on Monday, the advisor maintained that he saw unity in the colony and encouraged them to remain united and become exemplary for the rest of the Nagas.
He said that however small the projects might seem, as long as it was used for the benefit of the people then the objective of the initiative has been achieved.
Dr. Kire thanked the colony youth who assisted the workers while black-topping the road and said that such initiative made the society stronger and brought unity. He also lauded DPO LRD Kohima, Dr. Menuoseituo Tseikha, secretary ward adoption committee for taking up the projects with all sincerity.
Convener development committee LPWD in his project report said under ward adoption programme LPWD 2019-20, projects such as waiting shed near Lotha Baptist Church, toilet (initiated by DPO Kohima), youth recreation hall roofing with TT board, footstep, black topped from LBC to CHSS, road black topped from PWD junction to Midland, transformer 250 kilowatts, seven solar lights, three safety convex mirror reflection and replacement and new electrical post were installed and completed.
Meanwhile, on human resource development, under the project, training on paper making, hospitality and management training by tourist department and vermi compost training by LRD was also completed.
Lauding the advisor for the initiative, he said construction of drainage of about 1000 meters and footstep of about 600 meters were pending and requested the advisor to consider the two remaining projects.
Kohima SDO (C) and convener ward adoption centre Daniel Angami, chairman LPWD Panchayat Hayio Ngullie, president Kohima municipal ward Panchayat and ward chairman PWD Panchayat Dozhohü Tunyi thanked the advisor for his concern for the colony.
