Condemnations on alleged rape and murder incident

Condemnations continued to pour in on the alleged rape and murder of a mother at Maikum village, whose body was found in a forested area near Pimla village.


AUC: Ao Union Chümoukedima (AUC) has vehemently condemned the brutal murder of a hardworking and caring mother at Maikum village by unknown “savage/savages”.


The union said the incident has created “goose pimples to erupt in the mind and body of every right thinking people”, on how an innocent life was “maimed”, which cannot be explained nor accepted by the civil societies. Demanding the arrest of the perpetrator, the Ao Senso Telongjem Chumoukedima and Ao Lanur Telongjem Chumoukedima affirmed to extend possible support.


ZBN: Zeliangrong Baudi (N) condemned the gruesome murder of a mother and said such crime committed against a woman “has rang the bell of threats to the Naga society”. The Baudi said such strange and “brute bestial behaviour” could not be tolerated and the culprit, whoever it maybe, should be given extreme penalty.


ASUD: Ao Student’s Union Dimapur (ASUD) while condemning the incident said that the “heinous act” was a stark reminder of the urgent need for societal change and the protection of women and children.


The union said the “barbaric and inhuman crime” has not only robbed a family of their beloved member but has also instilled fear within the community. Noting that such acts of violence were are intolerable and must be addressed with the utmost seriousness, ASUD appealed to the law enforcement agencies and the government to take immediate action in investigating this case thoroughly and ensured that justice is served without delay.


KTCN: Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN) in a condemnation note said it was disheartening to hear of such inhumane act happening right in the state.


The council said this kind of incidences should be condemned by all the right thinking citizens and the perpetrators should not go unpunished. KTCN also urged the concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate and the culprits be booked as per the law of the land.

They also appealed to law enforcing authorities to further take corrective measures and ensure the safety of the women in all places.


AAYF: Aqahuto Area Youth Front (AAYF) said the “abhorrent act” of inhumanity has left the community in deep anguish and outrage. The barbaric crime has not only robbed an innocent life but also inflicted immeasurable pain upon the victim’s family.

AAYF therefore appealed to the law enforcing agency to conduct swift and thorough investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice without delay.
