Rongmei Council Nagaland (RCN) has expressed shock and sorrow at the demise of former general secretary of Naga Council Dimapur, late T.A Rongmei after a prolonged illness on January 9 at Dimapur.
In a condolence message, RCN described late T.A Rongmei as one of the towering leaders who contributed immense services towards peace and unity in Dimapur. His demise was a great loss and the vacuum created would be difficult to fill in, stated the condolence message.
It also stated that his contributions for the welfare of the people particularly the Rongmei community in Nagaland, Manipur and Assam and the Nagas in general would be remembered at all times.
Rongmei Council Nagaland further conveyed deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family at this hour of grief and prayed to Almighty God to grant peace to the departed soul.
RNPO: Rongmei Naga Peoples’ Organisation (RNPO) has expressed sadness over the untimely demise of T.A Rongmei on January 9 at Zeliangrong village after prolonged illness.
In a condolence message, RNPO described late T.A Rongmei as a tall leader who has always stood and worked tirelessly for the welfare and upliftment of Rongmei people in particular and the Nagas in general.
Rongmei Naga Peoples’ Organisation said late T.A Rongmei was the founding president of Rongmei Community Dimapur and later served as the president of Rongmei Council Nagaland, president of Rongmei Council, Nagaland, Manipur, Assam and as general secretary of Naga Council Dimapur.
It said from his youthful days till his last breath, late T.A Rongmei remained steadfast for the cause of the Naga political solution.
Rongmei Naga Peoples’ Organisation said his death has created a huge vacuum which would be difficult to fill in. It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to give them solace and strength to bear the loss. RNPO also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
