Neiphiu Rio, MP: Neiphiu Rio Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) has expressed deep pain and shock at the demise of late Pihoto Awomi, who had passed away on December 30 at Dimapur.
In a condolence message Rio said that late Awomi was a member of the erstwhile Dimapur Town Committee, a former member of Dimapur Municipal Council, president of the Dimapur District Cricket Association and joint secretary of the Nagaland Cricket Association.
Rio described late Awomi as someone who throughout his life had been committed towards the welfare of society, especially the weaker sections and the youth and has tirelessly worked to help and assist the needy at all times. His commitment towards the youth particularly in the arena of sports and games was commendable, as he was an active member of the sports fraternity and made significant contributions as an able sports administrator, stated the condolence note.
Rio said that late Pihoto’s dedicated commitment, selfless sacrifice and hardworking nature would be greatly missed by the entire sports community, especially within the Nagaland Cricket Association.
He said in the death of Awomi, the citizens of Dimapur have lost a down to earth leader and “we” in the Nagaland Cricket Association have lost a committed colleague and the vacuum created by his demise would be difficult to replace.
The MP along with the entire sports fraternity of the state has extended deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty God to let the departed soul rest in peace.
DCCI: Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry has conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and relatives of late I. Pihoto Awomi who breathed his last on December 30 at Dimapur.
In a condolence message DCCI stated that late Awomi was an executive member of DCCI representing Hazi Park Business Committee till his last breath.  In his demise, DCCI said the entire business community of Dimapur has lost a man who worked extensively for and contributed immensely towards the welfare of businessmen.
His steady nature of handling issues pertaining to the welfare of business community was an admirable quality seen by all those who got associated with him, stated the condolence note.
Further, DCCI prayed to Almighty to grant strength and solace to the bereaved family and also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
NPF Minority wing: NPF Minority wing has expressed shock at the untimely demise of I. pihoto Awomi on December 30 at Dimapur. It also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and the departed soul to rest in peace.
MCD:  Muslim Council Dimapur has mourned the death of a prominent personality of Dimapur, late I Pihoto Awomi. In a condolence message, MCD described late Pihoto Awomi as a friend of the Muslim community and someone who was well acquainted with the problems of the people of Dimapur.
MCD stated that it would take a long period to fill the gap created by the loss of late Pihoto in the social life of Dimapurians. It prayed to Almighty Allah to grant him eternal peace and also give solace to the bereaved family.
DDCF: Dimapur District Citizens Forum has expressed shock at the demise of late I. Pihoto Awomi on December 30.
DDCF has prayed to God to grant late Pihoto eternal peace and also hoped that the family would be able to bear his loss. Dimapur has lost a public leader and a social worker, stated the condolence message.
DDCA: Dimapur District Cricket Association (DDCA) has mourned the demise of its president, I Pihoto Awomi after a brief illness.
In a condolence message, DDCA said late Pihoto has been associated with the cricket association for the last 30 years and has been the president of the DDCA since 2005 till his demise.
DDCA said in his demise, the cricket fraternity has lost an able administrator, the gap of which would need many years to fill up as late Pihoto was respected both by the officials and players for his soft and systematic approach in the field of cricket.  Further, DDCA prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
DSSU: Dimapur Sumi Students Union (DSSU) has expressed grief and sorrow at the demise of late Khekiye Zhimomi, head GB Kughato village and president Western Sumi Youth Front.
In a condolence message, DSSU described late Zhimomi as an upright visionary leader who had great concern for the Sumi community in particular and Nagas in general and that in his death a vacuum has been created in the society.
Further, DSSU conveyed its heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that heaven’s peace be upon the departed soul.
DSSU also condole the demise of late Pihoto Awomi, a noted public figure who had great concern for the Nagas and who had worked for the greater upliftment of the Naga society.
DSSU termed his demise as a huge loss for the Sumi community in particular and the Naga society in general. DSSU has conveyed its condolence to the bereaved family while also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
DDTTA: Dimapur District Table Tennis Association (DDTTA) has expressed pain and grief at the untimely demise of I Pihoto Awomi on December 30. In a condolence note, DDTTA said late Pihoto Awomi as a member of Dimapur District Sports Council (DDSC) was very helpful towards promoting the game of table tennis and was associated with the DDTTA in helping organize tournaments. DDTTA stated that it would always remember his contribution towards the association and his association with the members.
Further, DDTTA conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and pray to Almighty God to grant them solace and comfort to bear the loss.
BJYM Nagaland state unit: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Nagaland State unit has mourned the demise of late I. Pihoto Awomi, who passed away on December 30.  In a condolence message, BJYM described late I. Pihoto Awomi, as a person of dignity who contributed his service for the welfare of society in deferent capacities. BJYM further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
MBF: Manik Bhattacharjee Foundation (MBF) has expressed pain at the demise of late I. Pihoto Awomi. In a condolence message, MBF described late Pihoto as a “dynamic leader” of the new generation, who contributed a lot for the development of Dimapur. MBF further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
HPMBWC: Hazi Park Market Businessmen Welfare Committee (HPMBWC) has expressed grief at the demise of its president late I. Pihoto Awomi. In a condolence message, the committee stated that late Awomi was involved in the growth and development of the Hazi Park Market almost from its inception and played a pivotal role over the period of time. HPMBWC further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
SCD: Sumi Council Dimapur (SCD) has mourned the demise of late I. Pihoto Awomi. Council described late Awomi as “a man of principle” a true Dimapurian and had the welfare of the town in his mind all the time. SCD further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. 
Timir Choudhury: Ex-member, Dimapur Town Committee Timir Choudhury has expressed shock at the demise of late I. Pihoto Awomi. He described late Awomi as a man of integrity who had no biases towards anyone. Choudhury lamented that he has lost a friend, guide, colleague and a guardian who was always there to help him tread in the right path. He further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and the departed soul to rest in peace.
PHEDDESA: PHED Diploma Engineers’ Service Association (PHEDESA) has mourned at the demise of late Er. Chakjemtiba Pongen, SDOPHED, Naginimora who passed away on December 22. In a condolence message, Association stated that late Pongen was a “dedicated” and “active” member. PHEDDESA further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
PFPSD: Public Forum Pungro Sub- Division (PFPSD) has expressed deep sorrow at the demise of late. I. Shokum Yimchungrü (Retd.DSP), assistant to Chairman Ceasefire Monitoring Cell, who breathed his last on December 28 at his residence Dimapur. 
In a condolence message, PFPSD described late Shokum as a man of great responsibility and a leader who had immensely contributed toward the upliftment of the society in various fields and capacities. The  forum stated that, late Shokhum worked tirelessly for the various Naga political groups  and Nagas  to a common platform  for the  betterment of the society at large. It said his death was a great loss to the peoples of Yimchungrüs and Nagas, which has created a vacuum in the society and would be difficult to fill.  The forum further prayed to the Almighty God to give solace to the bereaved family in their hour of grief and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
