Condolence messages for late Vikho-o Yhoshü

Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), organisations, political parties and various individuals have expressed shock at the untimely demise of NLA Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshü, and conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. 

Late Vikho-o Yhoshü passed away at a Mumbai hospital on December 30, 2019 after a brief illness. Three-day mourning was declared by Nagaland government and a state funeral service was held on January 1 at the official residence of the Speaker. 

G Kaito Aye: Minister for Agriculture & Co-operation, G Kaito Aye, has expressed shock and sadness at the untimely demise of his colleague and friend, Vikho-o Yhoshü, Speaker NLA. 

In a condolence message, Kaito said late Vikho-o had made outstanding contribution toward the upliftment of the Nagas as a sound technocrat, a seasoned politician and a great leader. 

In his demise, Kaito said the state has lost a towering figure who dedicated his life to serve the people and bring about a positive change.

Kaito described late Vikho-o as a man of utmost integrity, honour, unflinching courage and has left an excellent and lasting legacy, for which he will be forever remembered.

Kaito conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

V. Kashiho Sangtam: Minister for Soil & Water Conservation and Geology & Mining, V. Kashiho Sangtam has expressed grief over the sad demise of Er. Vikho-o Yhoshu, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Asssembly.

In a condolence message, Kashiho described Late Yhoshu as a diligent leader and a politician and a soft spoken individual who dedicated his life for the betterment of Nagaland.

He conveyed his deep condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal solace of the departed soul.

Zhaleo Rio: Advisor of Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, has expressed sadness and grief at the untimely demise of NLA speaker Vikho-o Yhoshü.

In a condolence message to Jalesou Yhoshü & family, Zhaleo said he had the privilege of working together with late Vikho-o Yhoshü as deputy speaker in the 13th House NLA from March 26, 2018 to July 22, 2019 and found late Vikho-o to be a true gentleman and an amiable person of justice, extrovert and knowledgeable character in discharging his constitutional duties. 

In his death, Zhaleo said apart from the family member and Angami community, the state and the people of Nagaland have lost a good upcoming leader and that the vacuum created would be difficult to fill.

Zhaleo conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

CPO: In a condolence message, Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) said it was saddened and aggrieved to learn the sudden demise of late Er. Vikho-o Yhoshü, Speaker NLA.

CPO described late Er. Vikho-o Yhoshü as a very amiable, helpful and accessible leader and added that unlike some elected leaders his door always remained open for anyone seeking his help, guidance and advice.

In his death, CPO said it has lost a very capable leader, a leader whose services would be immensely missed and felt by the less fortunate section of the society.

CPO along with its all frontal organisations joined the bereaved family in mourning and wished that the God Almighty bestow His strength and comfort to all the loved ones to overcome this great loss. CPO also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

SAPO: Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) in a condolence note stated that in the demise of late Er. Vikho-o Yhoshu, the SAPO has lost a prominent leader, a man of high calibre, of sound judgement, with unflappable leadership and one of the most humble and dynamic leader of SAPO and Nagas in general. SAPO pray that Almighty God grant solace to the bereaved family and that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.

Abu Metha: Secretary general & adviser to chief minister, Abu Metha, has expressed pain at the demise of Er. Vikho-o Yhoshu, Speaker NLA, and said it is a sad occasion for the people of Nagaland.

In a condolence message, Abu said late Yhoshu was a leader who was well and truly loved by the people and described him as a true gentleman politician. On a personal level, Abu said late Yhoshu’s family wife was his lecturer in college and his children are friends and that he had known him for more than a decade. Abu said late Yhoshu brought dignity and respect to the office of Speaker of the NLA, and as the chair of Nagaland’s temple of democracy, he ensured the spirit of democracy to flow in the House in an impartial and neutral manner. 

Abu, on behalf of NDPP and on his family, prayed to the Almighty God to let the departed soul rest in peace and give strength and solace to the members of the bereaved family.  

AAGBA: All Angami GBs Association in a condolence described late Er. Vikho-o Yhoshü as an upright man with a generous heart and deep concern for the uplift of the people and  had contributed immensely to the society in various capacities even before joining active politics. AAGBA is greatly indebted to him for his constant support to the association and particularly at a time when the association was undergoing tremendous financial difficulties. AAGBA join the bereaved family in mourning and pray that the Almighty God grant eternal rest to the departed soul.

DAN: Development Authority Nagaland (DAN) Dimapur in a condolence stated that late Er. Vikho-o was chairman of  DAN in his first maiden entry to politics in 2008, whereby DAN was able to achieve so many beneflts during his term. DAN also described him as a man of principle who always stood for the betterment of his subordinates and never put himself first. DAN conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and may the Almighty give solace and peace to the departed soul.

NDPP Mon: Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Mon region has conveyed condolences at the demise of demise of NLA Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshü, and said that his demise was a great loss for Naga society and vacuum created by his passing away would be impossible to fill.  In a condolence message, NDPP Mon region said late Yhoshü’s contribution to the Naga society and the state would be remembered for generations to come.  Further, all the rank and file of NDPP Mon region have expressed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

NDPP Peren: NDPP Peren region has expressed deep sadness at the untimely demise of late Vikho-o Yhoshu, Speaker, NLA, and said not only the party but Nagas have lost one most charismatic leader. NDPP Peren has conveyed deepest sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/ C: NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/ C has expressed pain at the demise of Vikho-o Yhoshü, Speaker NLA. In a condolence message, NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/ C said the Nagas have lost one of its finest leaders who have served people with utmost sincerity. The region said the void created by his sudden demise was beyond comprehension for Nagas at this juncture where noble people of his stature are gems of the land. 

At this time of grief, NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/ C has prayed to the Almighty Lord to grant solace and bless the family.

NWA: Nagaland Wrestling Association has expressed shock and sadness at the sudden demise of Er. Vikho-o Yhoshu, Speaker NLA, and said he was an ardent wrestling fan and well wisher of NWA. In a condolence message, NWA said late Yhoshu extended all possible help and guidance as and when the association approached him, and that his demise was a great loss to the association in particular and Nagas in general. The association said the vacuum created by his demise would be difficult to fill in. At this time of sorrow and grief, the wrestling fraternity said it shares the grief and sorrows with the deceased family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

NCSU: Nagaland Contractor’s & Supplier’s Union (NCSU) in a condolence note stated that late Yhoshii was a kind hearted man and a friend of all and in his death, Nagas have lost a great leader, while the vacuum created by him cannot be replaced. Union conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
