PWD (R&B) Minister, Nagaland: Minister, PWD (R&B) Y.Vikheho Swu expressing grief at the demise of Dr. V. C. Kanito described him as a man of dignity, principle and a visionary leader who served the nagas in various capacities and whose leadership not only inspired the Sumi tribe but nagas as a whole. Swu also assured the honourable legacy left behind by him will offer inspiration and a challenge to one and all.
Speaker, NLA: Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Chotisuh Sazo while expressing shock at the demise of Dr. V. C. Kanito termed him as an eminent parliamentarian with vast knowledge of parliamentary practices by which the NLA was immensely benefitted. The speaker also recalled the immense contribution of Dr. V. C. Kanito for the all round development of the masses keeping in view of the welfare of the masses and in his death the state has lost a veteran leader in general and the Sema tribe in particular.
DCC, Dimapur: DCC, Dimapur extended their grief at the demise of Late .Dr.Kanito, Ex-MLA,and father of K.Hollohon, General Secy, DCC . Terming Dr. Kanito as a sincere and dedicated man who gave a great contribution towards naga society said his contribution for the naga society for integrity and unity for nagas was immense and his death a huge loss for nagas which will be difficult to fill.
Central Nagaland Tribal Council: Central Nagaland Tribal council (CNTC) expressed their grief at the demise of Dr. V. C. Kanito (Ex-MLA and Advisor to chief Minister). CNTC vice president Khondao Ngullie and general secretary Imtinochet said Dr.V. C. Kanito was one of the founding members who devoted his time, knowledge and experience in the formation of CNTC and said that his legacy will remain and will be remembered by the council.
Sumi Hoho: The Sumi Hoho (SH) expressed their grief at the demise of Dr. V.C. Kanito. President Sumi Hoho, Toniho Yepthomi and General Secretary Vihuto Asumi said Dr.V.C. Kanito was one of the highly esteemed scholars among the Sumi community who served the Sumi tribe in various capacities and responsibilities such as President, Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (All Sumi Students Union), President, Sumi Hoho (SH), Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly and was also one of the brains behind the formation of Naga Hoho.
The Hoho said his contribution towards the Sumi society in particular and the Nagas in general especially in the field of peace building was immense and his demise has left a big vacuum in our society.
Western Sumi Hoho: The western sumi hoho (WSH) expressed their grief at the demise of Dr kanito sumi, former president of Sumi Hoho, who was a social worker in up lifting the Sumi society and the nagas in general. Press secretary WSH, Bohoi K Yepthomi said the Hoho will always remember his great contribution to naga society wished the departed soul to rest in peace.
PS to Member of Parliament (RS): Extending condolence at the demise of Dr.V.C. Kanito, Ex.MLA, Hokugha Chishi, PS to Shri. Khekiho Zhimomi, Member of Parliament (RS) said he was an Educationist, a politician and a founding father to various Apex Organizations of Nagaland. He said Dr.V.C. Kanito was a humanist who dedicated his life to society and the downtrodden and was also the president of All Sumi Students’Union(SKK) and chairman, drafting committee of the Naga Hoho constitution. He prayed to the almighty God to grant solace to the bereaved family and the departed soul to rest in peace.
