Condolences on demise of Noke Wangnao

Sumi Hoho: Sümi Hoho has expressed deep grief on the demise of Noke Wangnao, MLA and advisor of the Social Welfare Department, who passed away on August 28.


In a condolence note, Sumi Hoho said Wangnao’s departure have left a profound void in the hearts of all Nagas. The hoho termed late Noke Wangnao as a seasoned politician and a guiding light whose leadership was held in the highest regard by the entire Naga community. Noting that his passing away created an immense void in Naga society, the hoho conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for Wangnao’s eternal rest.
Former HM: In a condolence note to Mrs Apham Wangnao, children and grand-children, former home minister, Thenucho Tunyi said late Noke Wangnao will be remembered as an “elder Statesman and a towering personality in Naga Politics”.


Thenucho said late Noke “wore his heart on his sleeve and seldom cowered under pressure:” and that his unwavering personality was the basis on which his political legacy was built. He said late Noke as a true regionalist at heart and who firmly believed in Naga Unity and worked towards the goal of bringing all Naga ancestral lands under one cohesive administrative umbrella. Thenucho also recalled his association with Noke and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
