NPF president Apong Pongener said that during his tenure, late Ganesan served the State with humility, integrity and a deep sense of responsibility. He stated that the Governor’s contributions as a statesman and constitutional head would be fondly remembered.
On behalf of the rank and file of the NPF and on his own behalf, Pongener conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones, while praying to the Almighty to grant eternal rest to the departed soul.
Sümi Hoho: Sümi Hoho expressed deep sadness over the demise of Governor La. Ganesan, recalling that he served the people of Nagaland with humility, integrity and commitment during his tenure.
In a press note, SH president Dr Vihuto Asumi said that his contributions and guidance would be remembered with respect and gratitude.
At this hour of grief, Sümi Hoho conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and joined the people of Nagaland in mourning the loss of a respected leader and statesman and also prayed for the soul to rest in eternal peace.
Ao Senden: Ao Senden said it was deeply shocked and saddened by the demise of the Governor of Nagaland, late La. Ganesan, who had also served as the Governor of Manipur and West Bengal.
Ao Senden president Marsanen Imsong described him as an able parliamentarian, administrator, modest and down-to-earth person and an epitome of integrity, principles and wisdom. He said that as the head of the State, Nagaland had lost a guiding star for development in the economic, social, intellectual and political spheres.
In this hour of grief and sorrow, Ao Senden conveyed its heartfelt prayers that Almighty God would bless the bereaved family with peace, comfort and solace, while also praying for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
NTC: Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) expressed deepest sorrow and grief at the sudden and unexpected passing of late La. Ganesan, Governor of Nagaland.
NTC president C. Pankathung Lotha and general secretary C. Onen Walling said the people of Nagaland had lost a “people’s Governor” who was open-hearted, straightforward and hospitable. They said he was very dear and close to the Nagas and always tried his best to guide and help the State.
The council paid rich tribute, respect and homage to the departed soul, while praying that Almighty God grant peace, comfort and strength to the bereaved family in this moment of sadness and loss.
CANSSEA: Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees Association (CANSSEA) expressed heartfelt condolences on the sudden and untimely demise of Governor La. Ganesan. The association through its press secretary Siewatho S. Nyusou recalled his humility and dedicated service since assuming office in early 2023.
CANSSEA said his good deeds would be remembered with respect and gratitude. The association offered prayers for God’s comfort and strength to be upon the bereaved family and for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Moatoshi Longkumer: Advisor of Labour, Employment & Skill Development, and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer,offered a personal eulogy, recalling the Governor’s unwavering commitment to education and cultural preservation. “He transformed positions of authority into platforms for meaningful change,” Longkumer stated, highlighting the Governor’s vision for youth empowerment and his deep respect for indigenous heritage.
Chairman IDAN: Abu Metha, advisor to the Chief Minister and chairman of IDAN, reflected on his close working relationship with the Governor, marked by shared engagements in culture, sport, and development. Metha remembered him as a “dignified and kind-hearted gentleman” whose encouragement and blessings would remain a lasting inspiration.
NMA: Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) paid tribute to Governor Ganesan’s steadfast support for women’s empowerment in Nagaland. In a message, NMA remembered him as “a guide and a friend who opened the gates of Raj Bhavan to all citizens.” The association highlighted his role in defending the Constitutional rights of women and supporting the NMA during challenging times, including the lead-up to the historic municipal elections. “May the Almighty grant him eternal rest in peace,” they stated.
IRCS Nagaland: Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Nagaland State Branch, mourned the loss of its president, La Ganesan, describing his demise as a great loss to both the people of Nagaland and the humanitarian fraternity. In a message issued by general secretary Akhale V. Khamo, the Society acknowledged his guidance and support, which had strengthened the organization’s mission in the State. “His untimely demise is an irreparable loss,” the statement read.
NU: Nagaland University (NU), where Ganesan served as Chief Rector, expressed deep sorrow over his demise. Vice Chancellor Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik described him as a dedicated statesman whose unwavering commitment to education and public service left a lasting imprint on the university’s growth. “His vision, wisdom, and encouragement were instrumental in shaping the university’s progress and fostering a culture of excellence,” the condolence note stated. The university fraternity extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and joined the people of Nagaland in mourning the loss.
UNDP: United Naga Democratic Party (UNDP) also paid tribute, stating that Governor Ganesan’s tenure was marked by dignity, humility, and a steadfast commitment to the welfare of the people. The party acknowledged his role in strengthening governance and fostering communal harmony, describing him as a compassionate leader whose legacy would endure. NGBF: Nagaland Gaonburas Federation (NGBF), recalling its interactions with the late Governor, described him as a kind and straightforward leader who rendered commendable service during his brief tenure. The Federation conveyed heartfelt condolences and prayed for strength and comfort to the bereaved family.
LMFN: Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland (LMFN) expressed shock and sorrow, calling Governor Ganesan “a guiding light who inspired unity, hope, and togetherness.” The forum acknowledged his support for linguistic minority communities and affirmed that his memory would continue to inspire future efforts toward inclusivity.
WSSU: Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) described the Governor as a leader of unwavering dedication, integrity, and humility. “His wisdom and steadfast leadership left an indelible mark on the hearts of the people,” the union stated. WSSU extended heartfelt condolences and offered prayers for peace and comfort to the bereaved family.
OHCC: The Officers’ Hill (Thegabakha) Colony Council described Governor Ganesan as a revered resident and fatherly figure within the colony. “He was the most loved citizen of our colony,” the Council stated, acknowledging his contributions to the development of the area in both official and personal capacities. The council conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and offered prayers for strength and peace.
NGA: Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) also expressed its grief, recalling Governor as “a very humble and down-to-earth person, a friend of the poor and common people.” NGA said the Gorkha community had lost a supportive and concerned figure who was deeply sympathetic to their needs.
SBN: Seva Bharati Nagaland (SBN), in its condolence message, described the Governor’s demise as “an irreparable loss to the Nation and to Nagaland in particular.”
SBN praised Ganesan’s distinguished service and exemplary leadership, noting that “he contributed immensely to the welfare and progress of the State and its people.” The organization joined the people of Nagaland in mourning and offered prayers for the depart ed soul.
