Cong launches Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan in Nagaland

CorrespondentDimapur/Wokha, Feb 23 (NPN):

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has intensified its Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan (Organisation Creation Campaign) in Nagaland with programmes held in Wokha, Kiphire and Noklak districts.
In Wokha, the district-level campaign was successfully launched on February 23, led by AICC observer Indravijaysinh Gohil, accompanied by Vikram, general secretary of NSUI (Gujarat), Capt. GK Zhimomi, NPCC vice president and Nagaland SSA observer, and Dr. Temsu Wati, NPCC observer. The initiative aimed to review amendments and resolutions adopted during the AICC Convention in Ahmedabad, 2025, while strengthening grassroots structures and revitalising district committees.
During the interaction session, Gohil held extensive discussions with PCC members, ACCC representatives, Youth Congress, NSUI, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal, senior leaders, and block-level workers, including WDCC president Yisanbemo Kikon. He described the group and one-to-one meetings as highly fruitful and encouraging. Emphasising collective effort in preparation for the 2028 State Assembly Elections, Gohil assured full organisational support and noted that strategies to reclaim the long-vacant Congress seat in Wokha have been documented. The programme saw active participation of WDCC leaders including Chenithung Humtsoe, Yanchamo Ovung, and Woben Tungoe. The event was chaired by Nkhao Tungoe, WDCC general secretary, and documented by the WDCC media cell.
Meanwhile, AICC observer and Karnataka Legislative Council member, Ivan D’Souza, accompanied by PCC observer and NPCC spokesperson, Thomas, toured Kiphire and Noklak districts on February 20 and 21. His visit, undertaken on the directive of the AICC following a Congress Working Committee decision in Ahmedabad, focused on strengthening grassroots organisation, reorganising district committees, and engaging directly with party workers.
D’Souza interacted with district office bearers, PCC members, working committee members, and booth-level workers. Party members suggested stronger organisational support, regular visits by senior leaders, and re-appointment of sincere DCC presidents. He also discussed extending reorganisation efforts to other districts with the NPCC president and Lok Sabha MP, noting that a detailed report would be submitted to the AICC.
Highlighting Congress ideology of unity, equality, and justice, D’Souza said the campaign has already strengthened structures and identified future leaders in Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Delhi, while potential leaders were also identified during his Nagaland tour.
He expressed gratitude to NPCC social media vice chairperson Longtili C. Sangtam for hospitality and traditional Naga lunch.
