NPCC Working President, Khriedi Theunuo on Friday said the statewide inter-district tour programme of the Congress party was aimed at identifying and empowering capable leaders at all levels of the party structure with emphasis on the grassroots level.
Theunuo said this at the interactive program at Phek, and highlighted the importance of strengthening the party organisation in order to project the much needed alternative to the electorate of the state.
Addressing party workers and supporters, All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary in-charge of Nagaland, Christopher Tilak, said Congress has faced many challenges but survived for over 100 years, and remarked that coming out victorious during the Lok Sabha election in Nagaland despite being in the opposition for more than two decades was possible because of Congress’ enduring legacy of progressive and inclusive actions.
He underscored the importance of promoting the right narrative, and criticized the BJP’s divisive ideology. Tilak also pointed out the state of utter corruption existing in Nagaland and claimed that Congress party was the only alternative capable of dismantling this “pervasive culture of decadence and ineptitude engineered and championed by the government of the day”.
Lok Sabha MP, S. Supongmeren Jamir, who also addressed the party workers stressed on the importance of finding solutions and not just raising issues. He said the way to 2028 for the Congress party would be tough, but fruitful, because the electorate has seen through the lies and failures of the current government and would vote for change this time around.
