Coordination meeting held ahead of by-election

DIMAPUR:

A coordination meeting with all contesting candidates was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung on April 7, to deliberate on enforcing the silence period during the last 48 hours before the upcoming bye-election.
The meeting was attended by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officer, and all contesting candidates.
During the meeting, DC & DEO Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar assured the candidates that all necessary provisions and efforts have been made to ensure the bye-election is conducted in a free, fair and peaceful manner. He appealed to the candidates, their supporters, and the general public of 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency to cooperate with the district election machinery and strictly adhere to the provisions of the silence period and the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
