The 8th Freshers meet of Cornerstone College, Dimapur was held at the IMC Hall on September 29 on the theme “Venturing into New Possibilities”.
Chief guest for the occasion, chairperson of Nagaland State Women Commission, W. Nginyeih Konyak, emphasized the importance of college life beyond mere academic pursuits. She urged students to cultivate a multifaceted personality and play an active role in confronting social challenges. Addressing the pressing issue of substance abuse, both legal and illegal, she emphasized its dangerous consequences and urged students to exercise caution.
Guest of honor, vice president State BJP, GS Marwari Samaj, Dimapur Basu Damani encouraged the attendees to find ways to preserve their linguistic originality. CEO of NITI, Rishabh Sethi, in his motivational address, challenged the students to move beyond their comfort zones. Encouraging self-investment, he pointed out that today’s youth were the torchbearers of Nagaland’s future. The informal session saw the crowning of Mr. and Miss Fresher 2023 to Sungjemtemsu Jamir (Mr) and Merentola Walling (Miss), from Dept. of Political Science.
