Council members on shifting of dumping site

Keeping in view the ill effects of environmental pollution, the joint councils of Model Colony East Dimapur (MCED), Darogajan village council (DVC), Kushiabill village council (KVC) and Bamunpukhuri ‘A’ village council (BAVC) has firmly supported the stand of Sunrise Colony Dimapur in regard to shifting of dumping ground of garbage.
A joint press note by Model Colony East Dimapur GB L. Vikuto Wotsa and chairman; Darogajan village council GB and chairman; Kushiabill village council GB and chairman and Bamunpukhuri ‘A’ village council GB and chairman have extended support to the demand of Sunrise Colony against the Municipal Affairs department for failing to shift the dumping ground at the present location situated at Sunrise Colony and very close to Dhansiri river and other municipal areas.
The signatories stated that environment pollution was an issue that affected every living being and urged the department concerned to re-locate the dumping site to another area for a clean and healthy environment.
