Count on me: Khekiho

Newly elected Member of Parliament for Rajya Sabha, H. Khekiho Zhimomi today asked the people to count on him on the Naga political problem.
“On Naga political issue count on me and I shall count on you”, he addressed a gathering at a reception programme held in his honour at the NPF Division Office, Midland, Dimapur.
Zhimomi articulated on how the state leaders in the capacities of MLAs and ministers were not able to do justice to the Naga political problem in spite of their efforts, as they were immediately drawn to look after their constituencies, departments and the like. He felt it was time to solve the Naga issue and said it had been his dream to speak about the Naga issue in the parliament. Now that time has come, one should not only speak but should be followed by action, he said.
Zhimomi however said that though he would be speaking in the parliament, people back home should correspond to it in action.
The MP who observed that there has been a lot of confusion on how to go about with unification and integration hoped that there can be a breakthrough with the cooperation of the people.
Referring to the NPF, Zhimomi said this is the only party to bring ultimate solution to the Nagas adding he would try his best to make ties with all the parties outside.
Others who spoke on the occasion included former MLA Rokonicha, DMC chairperson, Khekaho Assumi and presidents of Dimapur NPF divisions where the programme was chaired by NPF Dimapur Division president, Lepshi Ao.
