CHC Tening under the aegis of Tening SDTF on COVID-19 organised an awareness programme on COVID-19 for shopkeepers, drivers and other stakeholders in at GHS auditorium hall, Tening on August 2.
According to a DIPR report, ADC and chairman SDTF Tening, Rhosietho Nguori in his keynote address lauded the members present in the programme.
He said that drivers and shopkeepers were high risk groups and therefore there was a need to get those high risk groups vaccinated and keep a regular check by undergoing Covid test regularly.
He also said that they need to ensure that they adhere to Covid appropriate behavior at all times.
MO, CHC Tening, Dr. Menangtongzuk spoke on various aspects of COVID-19 including vaccine hesitancy and need for Covid testing etc.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by ANM Aduile while a short speech was delivered by executive secretary LBA (N) & member SDTF on COVID-19, Rev. Kitanwi.
Asuto and Lumithsami villages achieve 100% vax
Asuto village under Suruhoto Block and Lumithsami village under Akuluto block achieved 100% vaccination with all its eligible beneficiaries being administered with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
A press release from CMO office, Zunheboto district media officer Shekho Sophie informed that the village GBs and elders came forward with a determination to vaccinate all its eligible citizens.
In this regard, a team of medical staff led by Dr. Tonoto, MO I/c Asuto PHC and Dr. Sukhai, MOi/c Akuluto PHC visited the villages and after five sessions of, the team vaccinated all the eligible beneficiaries.
Asuto village vaccinated 48 eligible beneficiaries while Lumithsami village vaccinated 224 eligible beneficiaries, DMO informed.
