A launching programme on COVID-19 mass awareness campaign for Peren district was held on November 2 at deputy commissioner’s conference hall, Peren, organised by TEAM ONE in collaboration with department of H&FW and NSDMA Peren.
According to DIPR report, the campaign is an aim towards sustainable prevention of COVID-19 community transmission in the district. DC advised the organisers to tie up with various government departments to witness more successful convergence even in coming days.
He added that this was a very good opportunity for all the public to stay more aware of COVID-19, unlike during the initial period where nobody knew how to react to the pandemic.
However, with the efforts of Medical department, district administration, District Task Force and civil societies, the district witnessed zero fatalities till today, however majority of the public were ignorant of safety measures to prevent community transmission, he said.
Stressing that mass awareness campaign was the need of the hour to prevent uncontrolled community transmission in the district, the DC urged the gathering to strictly follow government SOPs. Dr. Hedungkiebe, DVBO & DSO highlighted on the basic concept of the campaign, at the programme chaired by director, TEAM ONE, Haisoliabe Hegui while short speech was delivered by president NZPO.
