
As second wave of COVID-19 pandemic continue to surge in Nagaland, the state department of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) has ramp up vaccination drive by reaching out to people living in interior parts of the state, conducting awareness and sensitisation programmes along with the respective district task force for COVID.
In line with the decision of High Power Committee (HPC) to extend lockdown till June 18, the district administrations and sub-divisions have issued district and division specific advisories for the safety of the public.
Vaccination drive at UPHC Duncan: With an objective to accelerate vaccination, Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Duncan Basti Saturday organised a vaccination drive Lake View Colony wherein 330 beneficiaries were vaccinated.
In-charge of the vaccination drive, medical officer, Dr. Rose informed that out of 330 beneficiaries 290 fell under 18-44 years category while 40 beneficiaries were 45+ years.
Dr. Rose informed that the vaccination drive was being carried out as per the directive of the department of H&FW and would continue till June 18.
She informed that, so far, the centre has covered Chakesang Colony, Neisatuo Colony and Notun Basti while two sessions were carried out at Police Reserve, Supply Colony and Lake View Colony. (Staff Reporter)
DC Kiphire issues additional directives: Deputy Commissioner (DC) has issued additional district-specific lockdown guidelines in addition to the new state-wise lockdown guidelines issued by the state government. The directives will come into force from June 12 till June 18.
According to DIPR report, the directives are – the practice of no mask- no movement and no mask- no entry will be strictly enforced by all concerned; permitted shops and business establishment like vegetables, fish /meat vendors, milk booths, bakeries and local grocery stores shall be allowed to open between 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. all days in week; shops selling stationaries, mobile phones and computer accessories, hardware, garage for automobiles and shops selling vehicles spare parts shall be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and will be closed on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; regular religious service and gathering shall continue to be suspended. However, prayer meetings and fellowships may be allowed in religious places with not more than 20 persons; administrative offices of schools/Colleges with a core group of officers /staff shall be permitted to attend urgent and essential matters; private business offices with a core group of officers /Staff may be permitted to attend urgent and essential matters with the prior permission of the DTF; common service Centres (CSCs) in the district shall be permitted to open for IT support during Covid-19 vaccination; new construction works are permitted and fresh labourers shall be allowed as per provision under the revised SOP for returnees and travelers; movement of vehicles carrying essential commodities /food items and medical supplies including oxygen /oxygen cylinder and other medical equipment shall be allowed to continue.
In addition light motor vehicles including taxis shall be allowed to ply with 50% occupancy as per existing SOP All taxi drivers shall need to get negative COVID test report for resumption if service. However, bus service shall remain suspend.
The DTF in its meeting decided to undertake intensified COVID-19 vaccination drive targeting shopkeepers, shop attendants, taxi/truck drivers.
ADC Pfutsero notifies: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pfutsero in a notification has informed that total lockdown has been extended and shall remain operative till June 18, with existing lockdown measures to remain in force in the sub-division.

However, prayer meetings and fellowships may be allowed in religious places with not more than 20 persons with strict adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behavior; administrative offices of schools/colleges with a core group of officers/staffs shall be permitted to attend urgent and essential matters; private business offices with a core group of officers/staffs may be permitted to attend urgent and essential matters with prior permission of the block task force; new construction works are permitted and fresh laborers shall be allowed as per provisions under the Revised SOP for returnees and travelers.
Special vaccination camp held at Mon town: Mon District Task Force (DTF) for COVID, conducted a vaccination camp for school teachers, pharmacists and persons with disabilities on June 10 at Don Bosco School, Mon Town. Altogether 129 beneficiaries were vaccinated.
Vaccination campaign at Jalukie: ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang has informed the date and venue for ward wise intensive COVID-19 vaccination campaign under Jalukie Town jurisdiction for the convenience of the general public has been issued.
According to DIPR report, the ADC has informed the following scheduled for the vaccination drive – Dobashi Ward & Veterinary Ward 1 & 2 on June 12, 10 a.m. at Dobashi Ward Chairman Residence; High School Ward 3) on June 14, 10 a.m. at GB Residence, High School Ward; Old Market Ward 4 on June 15, 10 a.m. at Chairman Residence, Old Market Ward; Keleilwa Ward 6 on June 16, 10 a.m. at Lt. Namguheing Residence, Keleilwa Ward; Stadium Ward 7 on June 17, 10 a.m. at PEN Hall, Stadium Ward; Jalukie Ward 9 on June 17, 10 a.m. at Chairman Residence, Jalukie Ward; New Market Ward 8 on June 18, 10 a.m. at Barail Valley School, New Market Ward and Kedime Ward 5 on any working hour from Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. at SDO (PHED) Office, Jalukie Town.
Further, the ADC has requested all ward chairmen to give wide publicity within their respective ward for public information.
Vaccination drive at Duncan, Notun Basti: Urban primary Health centre (UPHC) Duncan Basti, Dimapur organised a COVID-9 vaccination drive on June 11 at the Duncan Council Hall and Government Primary School, Notun Bosti Dimapur wherein 225 beneficiaries were vaccinated.
