Active COVID-19 cases in India have crossed the 6800 mark. Closer to 7000 now, there has been an increase of 324 cases on June 10 taking the positives to 6815. Three deaths have been reported from Kerala, Delhi and Jharkhand. Kerala leads the way with over 2000 cases now with Gujarat crossing the 1000 mark.
Jharkhand reported the death of a 44-year-old man suffering from severe lung infection, septic shock, hypertension, and thyroid issues.
Gujarat has seen steady and sharp increase in COVID-19 cases since May 30. The uptick has been over 100 cases everyday.
On June 10, an increase of 129 cases was reported, taking the total active positives to 1109.
It has become the second-most affected state with 2 deaths reported so far.
As per health officials, the COVID-19 variants NB.1.81. and LF.7 are highly transmissible and more likely to affect coastal regions.
With 16 overall deaths, one death was reported from Kerala due a COVID-19 positive report.
