Against the backdrop of allegation vis-à-vis construction of 200-bedded Covid-19 hospital at Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research (CIHSR), Dimapur, State government sources con Sunday clarified that Rs. 30 crore was the entire package awarded to Glocal Healthcare Systems Pvt Ltd.
Sources informed Nagaland Post that the tripartite agreement between the State government, CIHSR and Glocal Healthcare Systems Pvt Ltd was reached under which the project was taken up on an emergency basis under Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA).
The sources also said that the 200-bed acute care facility was a pre-engineered (modular steel and glass building), which was projected in the presentation by Glocal Healthcare Systems Pvt Ltd for a low-cost construction project having a time-bound completion period of three to four months.
On whether tender was floated, they explained that though tender was not floated but based on the company’s credibility, the project was taken up on emergency basis keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic and the threat it posed, particularly to children, and most importantly, the time frame to complete the project within three months.
According to the information available in NSDMA website, the project will be a permanent structure with only ICU/HDU beds with ventilators, Bipaps, HFNC, oxygen, etc, and would be the apex of response.
It will also have OT complex, dialysis, etc, and function as a high-end Acute Care Hospiaztal post pandemic.
For long term plans of the facility post COVID-19 pandemic, it will be used as rehabilitation and palliative care ward, serve as an Ayushman Bharat ward, used as family medicine unit, concentrating on whole person care and, with the increase in kidney-related diseases due to diabetes mellitus in the State, the facility shall also be used as haemodialysis facility.
Further, the website mentions that the hospital will strengthen and equip the State government in its fight against Covid-19 pandemic with world-class modern facilities.
