Offline classes for Cl 8 & below suspended
With India witnessing an exponential rise in the number of Covid-19 cases, mostly driven by the Omicron variant, indicating arrival of the third wave of Covid-19, the state government has imposed fresh restrictions with immediate effect up till January 31, 2022.
In partial modification of all earlier orders, chief secretary J Alam has ordered reimposition of fresh restrictions for strict implementation throughout the State with immediate.
Night curfew: Night curfew has been reimposed across the state from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. with effect from January 9. However, goods vehicles, vehicles transiting the State without any stopovers, movement due to medical/other emergencies, agricultural purposes, and any other movement permitted by DTFs are exempted.
Offline classes (VIII and below) suspended: Physical/offline classes for students studying up to Class VIII have been suspended/closed till January 31. However, students of Class IX and above, having completed 15 years of age, shall be allowed to take admission, or attend regular classes, only if he/she has taken at least one dose of vaccine against Covid-19.
Gatherings restricted: Social, political, religious, entertainment, academic, cultural gatherings, and all other public gatherings have been restricted and allowed up to 50% capacity, or up to a maximum of 200 persons, whichever is lower. This will be subjected to all participants being asymptomatic, and fully vaccinated (taken both the doses) against Covid-19. In case of an unavoidable need to have bigger gatherings, they may be permitted only after getting express permission of the District Task Force (DTF).
Shopping/recreation: Malls, shopping complexes, restaurants, gymnasiums, cinema halls/theatres, parks, places of entertainment, recreation areas, etc. shall be permitted to open/operate up to 50% capacity, and all visitors/staff should be asymptomatic, and fully vaccinated.
Entry to state: Any person entering the State, above 12 years of age, including those fully vaccinated, shall be required to carry a negative test report (RT-PCR/True Nat/CBNAAT) with the swab given for testing not earlier than three days of the date of arrival in the State. An incoming traveller with/without a negative test report is symptomatic, or is below 12 years of age and symptomatic, then he/she will be required to undergo testing at government approved rates at the point of entry. The person concern will undergo home/paid quarantine till the declaration of the test result.
