In pursuance with the notification of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, the Longleng district COVID Vaccine Committee has been constituted to prepare, monitor and implement the Covid vaccine in the district.
The committee is headed by DC Longleng as chairman, district immunization officer as member secretary and 15 members from district administration and NGOs.
Meanwhile, according to DIPR, an emergency meeting of the Longleng District Covid Vaccine Committee was held last month at DC conference hall Longleng, to have a preliminary discussion about the Covid Vaccine which is anticipated to reach the country and state soon. Chairman of the committee, DC Longleng, M. Shayung Phom briefed the house about the purpose of the meeting.
District immunization officer gave an overall idea of the stages of immunization and how the COVID vaccine should be carried in the district.
All the departments were also advised to prepare mentally to participate in the immunization process and should be ready with manpower to support the committee as and when required.
