In commemoration of “World Veterinary Day-2025” on April 26, College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (CoVS&AH) Jalukie organised a “free vaccination cum awareness” program for the pet owners of Jalukie Town at the Veterinary Hospital of VCC campus.
The vaccination programmed was inaugurated by special guest Lt. Col Noble T George, Officer Commanding, The-14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital (MFVH), Rangapahar, Dimapur, by injecting the first ARV vaccine to a pet dog.
Lt. Col George also spoke on the importance of animal health care vis-a-vis teamwork. He also emphasized about the contribution of animal husbandry sector in the country’s GDP besides motivating the students to pursue their career as Remount Veterinary Corp personnel. A total of 100 pet dogs were vaccinated. In addition, a lecture on the theme “Animal Health Takes a Team” was delivered by i/c Dean, Dr. A. K. Sangwan.
Dr Sangwan also talked about the Minimum Standard of Veterinary Practice Regulations (MSVPR) and its importance. The program was chaired by Prof. Gunjan Das, Department of Veterinary Medicine and vote of thanks by Dr. N. Bhumapati Devi of Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics.
