College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (CoVS&AH) observed World Veterinary Day at the college premises on April 29 under the theme “Promoting diversity, equity and inclusiveness in the veterinary profession”.
A press release by the college stated that Dean, college of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Dr. I. Shakuntala, spoke on the importance of veterinarian in society and also emphasized on role of veterinarians to community as well as for the country.
Professor and Head, department of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Gunjan Das anchored the programme and also highlighted on the theme.
Events such as debate and collage making competition by the students were held commemorating the day.
The programme was attended by the faculty members, staff and students of the college.
