DIMAPUR: College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (COVSC & AH), CAU, Jalukie, Peren, celebrated “Rajbhasha Week” from September 16 to 22, 2026 with Dr. Brijesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, NU, as the special guest.
According to a press release, Dr. I. Shakuntala, Dean of the college, emphasised the significance of Rajbhasha Diwas in enriching the country’s unity and highlighted the beauty and diversity of India’s linguistic heritage.
At the valedictory programme, Dr. Brijesh Kumar delivered a special lecture on “Hindi as the official language and its use,” urging the gathering to use Hindi in official work not only to show respect to the nation but also to encourage confident speaking and writing in the language. He further encouraged the use of Hindi in day to day communication to enhance its popularity.
The celebration featured various competitions in which students, staff and faculty participated, including Hindi solo song, Hindi word (oral), Hindi word (written), and Hindi poem recitation, showcasing their proficiency in Hindi.
The programme was organised by Convener Dr. Tukheswar Chutia, Assistant Professor, Department of VGO; Co convener Dr. Amrit Gogoi, Assistant Professor, Department of VPP; member Dr. Rabeya Begam, Assistant Professor, Department of VPA; and member Bishal Roy, 4th year student.
