CPGRAMS, Digital Life Certificates Enhancing Transparency and Citizen-Centric Governance

New Delhi, June 20 (IANS): Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said initiatives such as CPGRAMS and Digital Life Certificates are transforming governance in India by improving transparency, strengthening service delivery and making public administration more citizen-centric. Speaking during a meeting with Republic of Korea Minister of Interior and Safety Yun Hojung, who is on an official visit to India, Dr Singh highlighted India’s achievements in digital governance and called for deeper cooperation between the two countries in areas including e-governance, artificial intelligence, public administration and citizen services. The two leaders, accompanied by their respective delegations, held extensive bilateral discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in digital governance, capacity building and public service delivery. Dr Singh noted that technology-driven governance platforms introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have significantly improved grievance redressal mechanisms and citizen engagement while reducing procedural hurdles.

Welcoming the Korean delegation, Dr Singh said India and the Republic of Korea share a Special Strategic Partnership based on democratic values, innovation and a common commitment to good governance. He referred to the Joint Strategic Vision Statement finalised during the visit of Republic of Korea President Lee Jae Myung to India earlier this year as a roadmap for expanding bilateral cooperation. The minister said both countries are vibrant democracies with shared values, cultural ties and a commitment to the rule of law, adding that their partnership is both historic and future-oriented. He also recalled the historical connection between the two nations through the marriage of Princess Suriratna of Ayodhya and King Suro of the ancient Gaya confederacy, a link that continues to hold cultural significance. Dr Singh appreciated Yun Hojung’s role in strengthening India-Korea relations, particularly as Chairman of the Korea-India Parliamentary Friendship Group, and expressed confidence that the visit would further deepen bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
