CPO ban on riverbed mining from Oct 31

DIMAPUR, OCT 8 (NPN)

Chakhroma Public Organization (CPO) has directed all concerned parties engaged in or associated with riverbed mining and related activities to completely cease operations and comply with the ban with effect from October 31, 2025.
CPO through its media cell cautioned that appropriate actions would be taken against those found engaging in the such activities after expiry of the stipulated deadline.
CPO said the ban was being imposed keeping in mind the urgent requirement for environmental protection, and also considering the adverse consequences resulting from riverbed mining. It reminded all villages under its jurisdiction to strictly comply with its resolution to ban all types of mining related activities in the rivers.
