Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) expressed surprise on being not invited to the consultative meeting convened by the cabinet sub-committee on October 23 at the Commissioner’s office, Kohima to discuss on matters related to boundary issues between the two districts.
In a statement, CPO president, Vichütuolie Mere and general secretary, Mhiesisato Vüprü stated that without taking the actual “traditional landowners into consideration, any efforts in solving boundary issues will be a hard nut to crack and may even proof disastrous”.
Meanwhile, Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (Zeme Council Nagaland, Liangmai Council Nagaland, Rongmei Council Peren district and Lamhai village council) expressed dismay for not inviting Chakhroma Public Organization (CPO), “who is the ancestral traditional neighbouring community with the Zeliang community” in the meeting.
In a joint statement, ZBN president, C.R. Zeliang; Zeme Council Nagaland, president, Dr. Tumda Newe; Liangmai Council Nagaland, president, Khenglubo; Rongmei Council Peren District (N), president, Ginbunlung and chairman Lamhai Village Council Peren District (N), Haibamko appealed to the state government to reconsider and invite CPO/APO in the consultative meeting.
