CPO hails WSH for upholding integrity of Naga identity

Chakhroma Public Organization (CPO) has expressed appreciation to the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) for its “responsible and dignified action” in reaffirming the “authenticity” of Naga identity.
In a press release, CPO president Zhato Kimho and vice president Neikhriehu also commended the “proactive steps” taken in addressing the matter concerning one Shiva Narayan Choudhary, son of Sikandar Choudhury, Nagalana Hardware Purana Bazar, who had previously used the name and title associated with the Naga community, S. Tovishe Yepthomi, despite not being of Naga heritage.
Further, CPO also appreciated Shiva Narayan Choudhury for his “honesty and courage” in correcting his identification, and “rightfully presenting himself with his real name and title.”
CPO said his willingness to rectify the situation with “humility” reflected a commendable spirit of truthfulness and respect for indigenous identity.
CPO expressed belief that preserving the cultural and historical integrity of the Naga community was essential to shared dignity and unity. It encouraged others, in similar circumstances, to follow Shiva Narayan Choudhary’s example by “embracing honesty” and taking steps that foster mutual respect across communities.
