Janvi Jain, who completed her schooling from St. Mary Higher Secondary School in Dimapur, and pursued her Higher Secondary Education in Kota, Rajasthan secured the all india rank of 1341 in the National Eligibility & Entrance Test (NEET) exam from Jaipur this year. Out of more than 13 lakh students who appeared for the NEET from across the country, Janvi Jain is the highest ranked student from Nagaland.
Talking to Nagaland Post at her school, 18-year-old Janvi said it all starts with having faith in oneself. She prepared for NEET for 2 years and studied around 12 hours every day. She woke up at 2 a.m and studied till 6 in the morning. She then attended coaching classes from 6:30 a.m till 2 p.m. Her day ended with another 2 hours of study from 6 to 8 pm. She said she slept early and did not study late into the night as she preferred studying in the morning.
When asked if it was stressful studying for so many hours, she said she felt no stress at all and enjoyed it. She however said that it is important to stay healthy in order to be able to study.
Regarding study materials, she said she used NCERT and CBSE textbooks. She also solved a lot of question papers to get acquainted on how to approach the exam.
She added that her parents were her biggest source of strength and inspiration and she shared all her problems with them. Her mother Kavita is a housewife and her father Sanjay Chhabra runs a cloth shop at MP road in Dimapur. Her brother Shreyan, who secured top 8 in the HSLC exam, from St. Mary Montessori Higher Secondary School a few years ago, also helped her with her studies.
Janvi’s hobbies are solving Sudoku and talking with friends. She aspires to become a surgeon to prove to her mother that she can dissect bodies and use a surgical knife.
Meanwhile, the principal of the school, Neena Dutta said that Janvi has been made the brand ambassador for a new coaching centre called Zenith.
