CRFPD demands imagery evidence on JJM scheme

Civil Right Forum Peren District (CRFPD) in a rejoinder to the news “JJM: PHED Refuted allegation” published on August 30, demanded the Department of Public Health Engineering (PHED) to produce imagery evidence along with those villages they claimed to have been completed and those villages whose completion Certificate (CC) had been procured.

In a rejoinder, CRFPD information and publicity secretary, John Zeliang and RTI applicant and executive member, Hiacheulak Hegui clarified that the claim of the department that Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme in 47 villages under Peren district was completed was a “blatant lie”. The forum also claimed that out of the maximum funds allotted by the Ministry of Jal Shakti for major development such as JJM, the implementing department i.e. PHED Peren district had deliberately failed to implement the project as targeted. Therefore, the forum said that the claimed made by the RTI applicant was beyond doubt that the department had failed deliberately in almost every villages, and the assurance made by the department was nothing but a “last ditch attempt to confuse the innocent villagers”.

Meanwhile, CRFD said that at a marathon meeting, it has agreed to defend the democratic right of its “own members, and shall not cow down to any political pressure”.

The forum has also endorsed the press statement issued by its executive member Hiacheulak Hegui an RTI activist. CRFPD said that the applicant will remained steadfast and firm until a reasonable or amicable settlement was affirmed. Further, the forum assured to stand firm against any injustice done to its people, and pledged to stand firm behind its own member until judgement is delivered.
