Dimapur Police arrested one John Aye (31 yrs), of Model Colony, Purana Bazar on September 17, on charges of extorting money from truck drivers in the name of NSCN-K. A demand slip of NSCN (K) was recovered from his possession and a case was registered at East PS Dimapur.
According to Police/PRO, Dimapur Police during routine frisking at New Field Check Gate intercepted a Maruti van B/Regd No. AS O4- 0826, transporting 16 live pigs from Assam. In this connection one Kawidingoubo, New Jalukie village, Peren was arrested and a case was registered at West PS Dimapur.
Meanwhile on September 12, Dimapur Police arrested four individuals; Sanpyinglo Ezung, Longsa village, Wokha, Nzanmongo Humtsoe, Longsa village, Wokha, Mhathung Ezung, Longsa village, Wokha and Chumben Ezung, Mungya village, Wokha on criminal charges of physical assault and public humiliation of a female victim at Over bridge colony, Dimapur.
The criminal act was video recorded by the arrested individuals and circulated on social media. In this, a case was registered at Women PS under sections of IPC and Information Technology Act.
