Group Centre (GC), CRPF Khatkhati (Assam) organised Intensive Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI ) drive on January 28 for nearby villages of group centre, including children residing at GC Khatkhati residential premises.
The programme was held under the leadership of DIGP, GC DRPF Khatkhati Madan Kumar who also administered the polio doses on the occasion. Altogether, 150 children were immunized.
CMO Dr. Kh Shyam Singh, S.C. Ghose D/C, Perr Md d/c. Dr. Sooraj MK, GDMO and all hospital staff were present at the camp.
Mokokchung: First phase of IPPI for Mokokchung district was launched at Imlong’s place on January 28 after assistant commissioner, Ajit Verma administered the first polio drop. In his short speech, Verma encouraged the health workers to give their best efforts to create polio free zone. He also urged the parents to ensure that their children availed the vaccine, which is given free of cost.
Earlier, the programme chaired by ZLO & DPO (RCH&UIP) in-charge, Dr. Ayangla Saku began with an invocation by pastor Artang Baptist Church Mokokchung, Bendang Longkumer. Deputy CMO, Dr. Kibang gave a short introduction on IPPI and highlighted the present scenario of polio status in India.
House to house visits for those missed out will be conducted on January 29 and 30. 204 polio booths have been set up. And the programme was attended by CMO, Dr. S.S. Akaba Longchar, deputy CMO, Dr. Kibang, and officials from department of social welfare, UNDP, Rotary club and the health workers of the districts.
