CRPF, PHED join ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Swachhata’ Drive

In celebration of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata’ campaign, various departments across Nagaland undertook patriotic and community-driven initiatives to mark Independence Day with purpose and public engagement.
At Airfield Dimapur, the 173 Bn CRPF led by Commandant Ashok Kumar Yadav organized a series of outreach activities beginning August 1. On August 14, the unit visited Neighborhood Children’s Home, Little Miracle Children’s Home, and House of Friendship (Old Age Home) in Dimapur. Speaking on the occasion, Yadav emphasized that true patriotism lies in serving the vulnerable and fostering a spirit of unity.
The CRPF team, including senior officers, donated rice, dal, and other groceries, distributed sweets, and jointly hoisted the National Flag with residents of the institutions.
In Zunheboto, the PHED Division, in collaboration with the Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC), conducted a cleanliness drive and flag hoisting at Zunheboto Town, Public Ground, and Aghunato Sub-Division. Students, PHED staff, and volunteers participated actively, reinforcing the message of civic responsibility and environmental stewardship.
Meanwhile, the PHED Peren Division observed Swachhata Dialogue & Awareness Day on August 13 across the district.
Consultant Vimezo spoke on “Dignity through IHHL”, while Er. Kedipeilung Elunglung addressed the importance of sustaining ODF Plus Model Villages. Cleanliness drives, including toilet cleaning and awareness programmes, were held at Bedrock Nursery School, Mhaikam Village, and villages under Jalukie and Tening blocks. The programme featured a welcome address by Er. Yuvila Sangtam and a vote of thanks by Er. Suiyitule, with participation from various village representatives. These coordinated efforts across districts highlighted the spirit of Independence Day through service, awareness, and collective action.
