DIMAPUR: The 173 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a Civic Action Programme (CAP) on Friday at the B/173 Bn company location, Referral Hospital Campus, 4th Mile. The initiative aimed to provide essential utility support to households, strengthen police public relations, and promote community welfare in the surrounding areas.
Seyiesezo Peseyie, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), graced the occasion as chief guest, while Head GB Kekhwetsu Khutoh of Diphupar Village and Head GB Mase Vero of Naga United Village attended as guests of honour.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Akai Sumi, Assistant Commandant, OC B/173 Bn, who highlighted the objectives and significance of the CAP in addressing grassroots needs and fostering enduring trust between security forces and local communities. During the event, the chief guest along with the guests of honour distributed solar lamps and essential food condiments to beneficiaries. The distribution directly supported over 100 individuals and underprivileged families from neighbouring villages, equipping them with reliable lighting solutions and daily household provisions.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries commended the leadership and personnel of 173 Bn CRPF for their continuous dedication to community service beyond core security duties, appreciating their proactive role in fostering peace, goodwill and mutual cooperation in the region.
