DIMAPUR: Chingmei Range Public Organisation (CRPO) and the Chang Union Chümoukedima (CUC) have strongly condemned the attempted murder of Langshe Lomou (Langshi) Chang of Chendang Saddle village, Tuensang district, on September 16, 2026, allegedly by Medochululie Zumvü (Ruhie) of Chiechama village, Kohima district.
In a statement, CRPO described the act as “inhuman and barbaric,” noting that it was committed against an innocent labourer who was the sole breadwinner of his family. The organisation said such acts were unacceptable at a time when Nagas are striving for a peaceful society.
CRPO urged the competent authorities to conduct a fair and impartial investigation, deliver justice in accordance with the law, and provide medical assistance and restitution to the victim as deemed necessary.
The organisation also expressed gratitude to Chang Union Kohima, Chiechama CSOs, and law enforcing agencies for their timely intervention. Standing in solidarity with the victim and his family, CRPO extended prayers for his complete recovery and renewed strength in the days ahead.
Similarly, Chang Union Chümoukedima (CUC) described the act as cowardly and senseless, saying it violated human life, dignity and the fundamental principles of humanity. The union expressed sympathy to the victim and his family, and prayed for his speedy recovery.
CUC further urged individuals, societies and organisations to condemn such acts and appealed for justice without delay.
