CS seeks govt servents’ support

State chief secretary, Pankaj Kumar IAS Friday sought cooperation from all government servents so that congenial atmosphere created for smoothing functioning in the state secretariat.
According to DIPR report, the chief secretary said this while inaugurating Drivers’ Rest Room at Secretariat Office complex.
He admitted that there were other areas, which needed special attention especially those with persons with special needs.
Chief Secretary also expressed gratitude to the contractor, for taking up the construction works even though fund meant for the work has not been released.
He also said that the Drivers’ Rest Room at the Secretariat was the long felt need and suggested that amenity such as TV, carrom, chess etc should be provided to the drivers.
Besides, newspapers and other reading materials should be provided for those who could read, said Pankaj and added that he liked those drivers who read newspapers.
Delivering short speech on behalf of the drivers, Nagaland Secretariat Drivers’ Union, president, Jacob expressed gratitude to the government for providing the facilities.
A brief technical report on construction of the Rest Room with Toilet facility at North and South block was presented by EE PWD (H) NCCD, Er. Aroba. He stated that the cost of the project, including rain water harvesting with treatment plant constructed at the cost of Rs. 1crore (gross) and funds yet to be released. Earlier, the was programme chaired by Home Commissioner, Neihu C. Thur IAS while vote of thanks was delivered by Secretary Home (SAB), A. Wopen Lotha.
