To encourage students from North-Eastern (NE) states to register for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2025, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) 2025 organised a press conference at Kohima Press Club office on February 11.
The press conference highlighted how JEE Main can open doors to premier engineering institutions and promising career opportunities. The registration for session 2 (April 2025) started on January 31 and will be closed on February 24.
Around 2024 seats will be available across NITs in India and 2000 seats expected to be availed under the state quota for NIT+ system within the Northeastern states while 740 seats will be available across India for students from Northeast states under CSAB-NEUT round.
Pointing out that students of Nagaland have showcased immense potential and remarkable talent across various fields of career, chair CSAB 2025, Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao, said students of Nagaland has the potential to produce the next generation of outstanding engineers and scientists. He encouraged all students from Nagaland to take advantage of the opportunity and register for the JEE Main 2025 Examination.
He said CSAB 2025 team will provide guidance and support during each counselling round.
He also informed that recognising the unique challenges faced by NE students, SAB offers tailored opportunities through dedicated counselling rounds: CSAB-NEUT Round- allocates seats in AICTE-approved institutes across India for students from NE states and Union Territories with limited technical education facilities and CSAB Special Round: Provides an additional chance for candidates who did not secure a seat through JoSAA/SAB counselling to gain admission to NIT+ institutions.
Vice chair and local organising committee CSAB 2025 Prof Pankaj K Sa informed that 50 % seats have been earmarked for students from Northeast state, and encouraged the students to avail the opportunity.
Dean Academic NIT Nagaland Dr. Wati Walling also highlighted the ample opportunity available in the NIT Nagaland. Chairman, Local Organising Committee, CSAB 2025 Prof. Anindya Basu, said the Central Seat Allocation Board (SAB) is making it easier than ever for students from the North East to access these incredible opportunities.
