The Crime Suppression Department (CSD) of NSCN (I-M) led by commander ‘captain’ Mughato, during its daily routine check-up round on May 25, apprehended one alleged arms smuggler identified as Norudin, s/o Samrodin of Meban, Tezpur District Assam and presently a resident of Padampukhri, Dimapur.
In a press note, secretary to the GPRN, M. Daniel Lotha, informed that the CSD team recovered two arms- one .22 with 11 live rounds and one .32 with six live ammunition from his possession and was therefore “charge sheeted” under arms smuggling case, extortion and kidnapping.
In this connection, secretary, Ministry of Kilo Affairs, GPRN, has highlighted the antisocial elements smuggling arms, extortion, abduction, murder etc perpetrated in and around Dimapur by non-locals with the help of local people.
Therefore, the GPRN has “stringently” warned of befitting punishment to anyone caught indulging in such activities. Further, GPRN has solicited cooperation from all concerned in its mission.
