CSOs demand stringent punishment for ISBT murder accused

Various civil society organisations (CSOs) while condemning the murder of an employee of NST at ISBT on August 24, have demanded stringent punishment for the accused.


ENPO: Condemning the “brutal and cold-blooded murder” of Z. Hozheto Yeptho by Nokyei Konyak, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) has appealed to the law enforcing agency to award befitting punishment as per the relevant section of the law.


Media cell of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization also appreciated the prompt and quick action initiated by the law enforcing agency in nabbing the culprit and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.


ENPUD: Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union Dimapur (ENPUD) said the “inhumane barbaric act” and “heinous crime” committed by Noknyei Konyak would not be tolerated and demanded law enforcing agency to award benefitting punishment to the perpetrator according to the law of the land.
The union also extended sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family members.


AAUZ: Aghunato Area Union Zunheboto (AAUZ) has vehemently condemned the “cold-blooded” murder of Hozheto Yeptho of Aquba New village by Noknyei Konyak.
In a condemnation note, AAUZ president, Kivito Awomi and general secretary, Inahoto Assumi said that they were dismayed over the failure to provide security to an employee inside the governmental establishment, ISBT premises, Dimapur.


However, the union expressed gratitude to the law enforcing agency for the promptitude in apprehending the culprit, and demanded befitting punishment of “highest order as per the law of the land”.
The union also demanded appropriate compensation and employment to the deceased family in order to perpetually support the family.


YSU: Yuching Students’ Union (YSU) while condemning the murder of Hozheto Yeptho by Noknyei Konyak son of late Phokai Konyak said that such “inhuman and barbaric act” would not be tolerated.
Yuching Students’ Union president, Shipan and general secretary, Sheihlong demanded the law enforcing agency to initiate necessary action as per the law of the law and deliver justice at the earliest.
The union also conveyed condolences to the bereave family members and prayed that Almighty God grant comfort and solace to the departed soul.


Aquba old village: Aquba old village council has strongly condemned the inhumane act and “brutal killing” of an innocent life and appealed to the law enforcing agency to ensure that the culprit was awarded befitting punishment as per the law.
The village council chairman, Kakivi N. Yepthomi expressed gratitude to Dimapur police commissioner and investigation team for promptly apprehending the culprit.
The council also extended condolences to the bereaved family members.


ANSTRSU: All Nagaland State Transport Running Staff Union (ANSTRSU) has vehemently condemned the brutal murder of Hozheto Yeptho. In a condemnation, the union president V Vikato Awomi and vice president Wetso Lohe demanded the state government and the department to provide adequate compensation to the family and appealed to law enforcement to award befitting punishment as per law of the land.
ANSTRSU further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
