Expressing concern in the larger interest of the students’ community and teachers, the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) said that it was immature on the part of the government to disregard “one’s own gentleman” decision and agreement arrived at which is genuine.
A press release by CSU vice president Diekute Mero and general secretary, Avezo Kevin Kapu expressed doubt on the logic of the department and government in delaying to implement the very policy which was agreed upon and signed between the School Education department and the Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association, NSF and ENSF on June 12, 2018.
CSU also asked the department to take note that it should not wait for the students to go out to the streets and demand for what was due and reasonable. It further stated that, no due consideration has been given so far after the tripartite agreement and the October 3, 2018 cabinet decision in principle to implement the same.
While also extending utmost support and cooperation to the demand of the Naga Students ‘Federation and the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation, the CSU believe that department will take prompt action to address the issue.
