To protest against the failure of the state government and the department of health & family welfare to address its charter of demands, the Chang Students Union Tuensang Town (CSUTT) organized a “peaceful rally” on August 23, 2017 at Tuensang town.
In a press release, CSUTT president, Bhukyim Chang, stated that the rally was attended by Chang Khulie Satshang, Changsao Thangjam Satshang, Tuensang Village Citizen Union, Confederation of Chang Students Union, All Ward Union, students from GHSS Tuensang and mass public.
Speaking at the rally programme, CSUTT president highlighted various issues plaguing the Tuensang district civil hospital.
Among other demands, the CSUTT has demanded posting of Anaesthesiologist, medicine specialist, paediatrician, ENT specialist, MD in Radio diagnosis at Tuensang district civil hospital.
Alleging absence of Gynaecologist and irregularity of District Tuberculosis Officer from regular duties, the union has also demanded their replacement. At the rally, presidents from various organizations gave short speeches and lamented the anomalies being detected in the district hospital Tuensang.
According to CSUTT, all the civil society organisations/NGOs assured to fully cooperate with the union in pursuing its demands.
Meanwhile, CSUTT has warned the state government and the H&FW department that in the event the chartered of demands were not fulfilled, the union would take further course of action for which the department and the state government would be solely held responsible.
