CTAN demands termination of two JSCOs

Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has once again raised the issue of “illegal” appointment of two junior soil conservation officers (JSCO) in Soil and Water Conservation department. CTAN reminded that it had through the first notification dated September 9, 2019 and second representation dated December 18, 2019 demanded nullification of regularization of two JSCOs appointed on June 3, 2016.

Further, on March 10, 2022, CTAN said it served an ultimatum on the S&WC department, but the department clarified that “there’s no question of termination since they no longer serve in the department”.
However, CTAN claimed that the duo was still serving in the department till date and was under the process of regularization, which it said “clearly contradicts the contract agreement”. CTAN said the appointees had no right to claim regularization in any case. Therefore, CTAN demanded termination of the two JSCOs on or before March 11, 2024.

Failure to act within the stipulated period, CTAN cautioned that it would be compelled to lockdown the directorate of S&WC. CTAN asserted the JSCO posts clearly fell under the purview of NPSC. This was stated in a joint statement signed by CTAN convenor, two co-convenors of CTAN andpresidents of graduate electrical engineers’ association of Nagaland, civil engineers’ association of Nagaland, Computer Sc&IT engineers’ association of Nagaland, forestry graduates’ association Nagaland, Nagaland dental welfare association, agri. engineering graduates’ association of Nagaland, Nagaland library association, association of electronics & communication engineering Nagaland and horticulture graduates & students’ association of Nagaland.
