CTAN, NNQF call for transparent recruitment

DIMAPUR, MAR 9 (NPN):

Combined Technical Association Nagaland (CTAN) and Nagaland NET/Ph.D Qualified Forum (NNQF) have jointly submitted a petition to the chief minister’s office seeking a fair, transparent and inclusive recruitment process for assistant professors and librarians under Higher Education department.
In a statement, NNQF said the ongoing controversy over the regularisation of assistant professors and librarians had raised serious concerns about the legal, ethical and rational basis of the government’s recruitment policy and had also tarnished the image of the government.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and its constitutional responsibility to ensure justice, equality and merit in public appointments, they outlined four key demands. These include urgent requisition of 129 posts to NPSC, reconsideration of the marks weightage framework, full transparency in the evaluation process, and clarity and consistency in the treatment of candidates holding postgraduate degrees in allied subjects.
The forum said the petition carried 505 signatures representing research scholars, postgraduate students, social workers, doctors, serving professors and assistant professors, professionals, engineers, civil service aspirants, entrepreneurs and undergraduate students. A copy of the petition has also been submitted to the chief secretary’s office.
