Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) Tuesday has reiterated that it will not accept the “illogical demands” of the All Nagaland Junior Engineer’s Association (ANJEA) and Power Department Junior Engineer’s Service Association (PDJESA) for 70% through promotion and 30% through NPSC.
CTAN through its media cell said it has appealed to the authority not to accept and entertain the representation dated February 18, 2022 and June 8, 2022 submitted to the principal secretary department of power and the chief secretary by PDJESA and ANJEA.
CTAN pointed out that there was an existing Engineering Service Rule 7, 2012 (Group A and B) Section 6, which stated that “60% of post of SDO/Asst. Engineer/Asst. Architect should be filled through NPSC and 40% through promotions from lower grade”, which has to be retained.
CTAN said a number of engineering graduates were passing out from different universities each year in hundreds and there were currently over 5200 registered qualified engineers seeking to sit for exams.
In the light of the above, CTAN appealed to the responsible authority to take wise decision and not to entertain “any such selfish demands” in the interest and welfare of the educated engineers.
The association cautioned that it would go to any extent to deliver justice to the deserving candidates.
